  • Overview

    Job Summary:

    Primary responsibilities includes all tasks related to supporting and assisting the planning team in preparation of media proposals, plans, budgets/billing, reports, and analysis. The Junior Media Planner provides maintenance for a communications plan once it has been implemented and supports the buying process by preparing authorizations to buy, reviewing insertion orders, uploading buy specs, updating flowcharts and processing invoices.

    Qualifications

    Education &/or Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education & experience
    • Previous Internship experience in Advertising, Marketing, or Communications Planning preferred 

    Software Requirements: working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

    • Articulate ideas well and support positions effectively
    • Be a good listener, receptive to the ideas of others
    • Give directions clearly and effectively

    Responsibilities

    • Develop point of views on media opportunities for submission to the client
    • Assist in the development of media plans that specify which forms of media will be used to effectively reach the target audience
    • Responsible for developing a working knowledge of media relevant to the client’s business including Digital, Social, TV, OOH and Radio
    • Meet with media representatives to obtain information about their products
    • Pull research to support the development of media objectives, strategies and tactics, including Simmons, SRDS, Comscore, Kantar and eTelmar
    • Responsible for all media plan entry into Mediaocean, coordinate with internal/external teams for all campaigns
    • Provide maintenance for a media plan once it has been implemented, oversee the launch process as required
    • Utilize Media Tools to create and maintain flowcharts
    • Accurately maintain client-approved budgets
    • Assist in execution and tracking of client billings
    • Assist in the media buying process through the creation of media authorization forms and media buy specs
    • Other responsibilities as assigned
